So, why the title? Anyone can make money out of this not only manga artists (80% of what they should, anyway, in the form of points and stuff)

Also... why so much fighting against nudism in minors art around here, and then the first thing we find as preview for this news is a little seminaked anime girl ha ha ha oh Deviantart, I am sure there were no other drawings available so I forgive you...

Or maybe you thought no one would pay attention unless there was some manga and nakedness around? Or maybe you think the anime and manga artists are the only ones dumb enough to pay premium membership and give you 20% of their DIGITAL DOWNLOADS SELLINGS profits as wlel? ha ha ha oh god XD

Bad advertising here... nice that you start to think of a way to do this, but right know this is ridiculous xD

Dx

-----------------------

something like an english translation LOL I'm bad on english and I've used google for help ;w; but I want to everyone understand my opinion ._.

I will name this: "I am happy in DA" xD

Their managers are always very honest, besides being very respectful, because not only keep always updated the site, but also notified all the time about this, and too provide us know things like contests, that surely has opened doors to meet your goals with your art for more than one. Without mention that the site is very neat and useful in many ways. Not only allows us to share what we do, but we can also build entire communities or join them, and entertaining activities, meet people and even thereby improve on what we do. I honestly never found a site that offered both expecting so little as there are, very few things that can't be done without premium, and nothing "relevant" is impossible in this regard. About this new way to sell art online, I find it something good for those who want it because, as with everything, there are people who want the benefits gained by buying the original and this positively encourages the author. I don't think that the comfort and this possibility also very comfortable, worth less than a 20% gain. They have nothing to gain with the thousands of free users here, and even that users can make money doing commissions without paying for it ... If money was the important thing for this site, I think it would be known, and of good quality for all that is ... Well, anyway, I don't understand why so many people disinterested by this news comes here just to throw aggressive or angry comments when this possibility doesn't preclude or affect anything.

STOP being so aggresive!! Dx

I think 95 would be a LOT more reasonable. I mean, you get 98 if you use Paypal (I believe), and that extra 3% for dA is that you don't have to leave the page and all that...

Everybody seems to think a big website like dA can be run for free and that everybody HAS to use this option.
Seriously, if all the energy people are using to complain about this would be used for any cause that actually matters, the world would be a much more wonderful place.

anyway, i feel neutral about this. It sucks that you can only keep 80% and not 100%, but at least you make something.

And seriously, the title with manga and anime is misleading. DA people, you better change it.

A 20% fee is garbage. I hope younger users and aspiring artists don't fall into this sham. Way to degrade the value of the industry and leech from the people you're pretending to support.

Let me get this straight... I pay to have premium membership, then have to give up an additional 20% to sell here? Hmmmm... I don't create digital images. I post pictures to let folks know what I have been making. Though the pictures are digital in their nature, it's not pixel, 3D, animated gifs, stock, or digitally painted.

I'm not seeing the advantage to this. Especially, if I am already paying for premium membership.

And the profitability here favors those that have a massive following with money or points burning holes in their pockets.

I'll keep my minimal commissions and 100% of that, thank you.

Also, this is not the topic presented in the title of the Hot Topic. That states Make Money! Earn Points selling Manga and Anime!

I don't think a premium membership is required to use this. But I do agree a 20% cut is mighty steep. Maybe not too bad for the microtransactions, but for higher priced items? Yikes.

My point is, I am already paying that membership. The idea of having an additional 20% taken for each piece sold raises my hackles some. That fee, regardless of the price of the art adds up. What exactly are they doing for that? Promoting the artists that participate? I have not seen that anywhere.

If anything, I have to promote myself on other sites, through twitter, emails, and flyers. They provide a shopping cart? That has been there and they take a fee from that. Paypal? Please... I'm just not seeing the reason for that 20%... It's like a service charge on something they already charge for.

If you're doing all the work, do you really want to give up even a fraction of the price you are asking? Especially in this economy?

Oh, no. I agree with you. I think that fee is way too much, and I remember being surprised that even premium members would have to pay it. I assumed a lower fee, or maybe even no fee at all, would be available to premium members. But it would be nice if that fee were drastically cut for all members at some point.

I don't have premium, but I can relate the, um what word to use, conversation. It is out outrageous. If you already pay to have a premium why should they get 20% even though your already giving them the money they wanted.

It would be much better if the people with premium memberships get all of their earnings because they pay money each year or month for dA so it's reasonable. I won't use it because I just started and lower the percent a little. Still a good feature though.

Though 80% is pretty good, couldn't someone open their own art blog and sell their art and get 100% of the profit? I've seen artists do it before.
Plus, only the super popular people on DA are probably the only ones who can benefit from this, at all.
Its nice you guys are trying to upgrade the website and all, but I don't see this doing very well...

I started using it; but I would like to "stash" PDF files where all the pages are together in order and is more comfortable to read. So the one that downloads the cover (for example) gets all the page sin order and ready to be read, without having to open page by page.

I'd like to hear the opinions of people actually hooked up to this type of venture. I personally know a few people who pay to get their monthly fix of comics in digital format, so it does happen, people will pay to read your work, but most of the titles being purchased are already well established, they already have franchises and cartoons but I'd be interested to hear how much digital sales actually bring them.

... Or I could right click and save things? No disrespect to digital artists, I dont normally save things from dA to my comp, I just revisit the page when I wanna look at something. But, everything on dA is available on google images as you all know (Even the mature filtered stuff if you type in the title and artists name)- and so the whole entire world has access to every drawing on here via google... people searching for interesting things to add to their blogs etc sure as hell arent gonna pay for them!
